Wow… Amazing how the universe bring things back what we put out.
Really ironic that today is Duke’s Birthday. I was just at Dukes in Huntington a few days back. One of my favorite beach restaurants on the planet!
Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku (August 24, 1890 – January 22, 1968) was a Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) competition swimmer, who is widely credited with popularizing the ancient Hawaiian sport of surfing. He was born towards the end of the Kingdom of Hawaii, just before the overthrow, living well into statehood as a United States citizen. He was a five-time Olympic medalist in swimming. Duke was also an actor, a beach volleyball player and businessman.
Duke Kahanamoku The “Duke” (who was born 125 years ago today) could see that trouble was brewing when massive waves and swells propelled by fierce winds began to lash the coast.
I had some Ahi Poke to Celebrate this spacial day! What will you do to celebrate his Birthday?
Get out there and catch some waves baby!
